OVERVIEW:

The workmanship in a handcrafted instrument far exceeds that of an instrument that is mass-produced. A J.Thayer Guitar is known for its attention to detail in construction, the quality of its sound, custom inlay work done on the neck and body, the use of the best hardware available and for the outstanding finish quality which brings out the natural beauty of the wood. When ordering a J.Thayer Guitar you may customize the guitar to suit your needs and desires. You may choose the wood, the color or stain, the hardware, etc. Guitars may be ordered with inlay work done in abalone, mother of pearl, or ask about other materials available.
ELECTRIC GUITARS:

John will create an electric guitar that will meet your needs and desires. Choose from preexisting J. Thayer Guitar models and designs or submit your own design ideas.  You choose the hardware, electronics, woods and finish (clear, transparent coloring, solid coloring, color bursts). Inlay work can be done on the neck and or body of the guitar; names, shapes, etc.

ACOUSTIC GUITARS:

A fine acoustic guitar is a very personal thing; there is no "best", only personal preference. The "X-brac" style construction and bracing of the J. Thayer acoustic guitar is similar to that of many steel string acoustic guitars.  The main difference is they are made by John Thayer; this makes them unique to him and his technique. Many characteristics of the J. Thayer acoustic guitar can be personalized such as the way the neck is carved, cutaways, Inlay work, and lacquer or shellac finishes.   Also a wide range of woods, bindings, purflings and decoration can be done. If you are looking for a guitar with great tonal and visual characteristics come by the J. Thayer Guitar shop and try one out!

CUSTOMIZING YOUR EXISTING GUITARS:

Once people purchase a guitar from a music store they might find that they wished their instrument was just a little different or unique.  J. Thayer Guitars can customize your existing guitar to your specifications.  Color and finish changes, new pickups and electronics, fret work, bridges, or other hardware can be changed out to suit your needs.

GUITAR REPAIRS:

Repairs of all kinds can be done at the J. Thayer Guitar shop in Bremerton, ranging from complete re-finishing to changing the setup of an instrument.

LEFT-HANDED GUITARS:
Many left handed players find it difficult to locate a guitar that suits their needs.  With a J. Thayer Guitar you can create an instrument that will be yours from the beginning with no extra charges or costly conversions.  You can have your guitar built just the way you want it to be.
